Here are a few things for June and beyond. The Will Gregory Moog Ensemble's Heat Ray will be released on Mute Records - available on the 14th of June! Album pre-orders (including vinyl) and live show information can be found here. Will has been busy on the promotional circuit, appearing on the Synthetic Dreams podcast among other leadership duties. Jazz Stroud was an excellent thing! Read the Jazzwise review here. Matt Stockham-Brown's 6161 will be playing at Swanage Jazz Festival on the 14th of July. It’s a real privilege to play Matt’s incredible compositions live. The music blends his stellar drumming with innovative brass writing and warped electronics. Come and see it! Denny Ilett’s Electric Lady Big Band plays at the Swansea International Jazz Festival on 15th June. This is Denny’s passionate, powerful reimagining of Jimi Hendrix’s work and it’s a beautiful thing to be a part of. I am improvising with Tongue Fu at Glastonbury Festival on the 27th of June. Led by Chris Redmond, Tongue Fu combines live music with the best in improvised poetry and spoken word. Previous collaborators include Kae Tempest, Salena Godden and Max Porter. Always fun - this Glastonbury edition will be special. Come find us in the Tipi Field. In 2022, I met two lovely people on a beach in a remote part of Pembrokeshire. While exiting the sea, we started to talk about the Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas. They told me about their band, Samana, and I listened to their incredible music all the way home. Samana are playing Bristol at The Mount Without on the 17th of June. Do not miss it.
